A pair of questions for TC Transcontinental printingThe acclaimed Toronto-based investigative photographer, our friend @1236, has documented that advertisers in the print edition of NOW Toronto are quite possibly being suckered. Claims have been inferred that 76,000 print copies are circulated. Yet there is no evidence that any distribution whatsoever has taken place during the past three months.
One way to prove or disprove the possibility that circulation fraud is being committed by NOW Toronto's publisher would be to produce invoices and shipping statements from the publication's printing supplier. Most recently this was the publicly traded company TC Transcontinental. As a TSX-listed multinational printing group, TC Transcontinental would not wish to be party to any sort of misrepresentation or unethical act -- lest shareholders and analysts tar TC Transcontinental with the same brush as their disgraced client, the bankrupt Media Central Corp.
So, what is it, Mr. Printer? Time to come clean, before things go any further. How many copies of NOW Toronto are you actually running? And are you aware of, or potentially complicit in, any possible misrepresentation of that number to advertisers?
You know, just asking.
