Geez. Not my words.

Geez. Not my words.
Facebook Post from President Chad Day:

Meduh to our Elders (Alice Hamlin, Kitty Brown, August Brown, Nancy Mcghee) and our Vice President, Heather Hawkins, for coming together on Tuesday evening as we flew out to Sheslay and confronted Doubleview Capital Corporation and their President/CEO. We all took turns speaking to the company respectfully and made it 100% clear that the Tahltan people are not going to support exploration or mining activities in Sheslay. Our Elders spoke of the area's history and pointed to the hunting grounds, birthplaces and burial grounds of their relatives and our Ancestors.
The Tahltan Nation issued no permits for these exploration activities and will remain united and determined to protect this area. The company was well-aware of the sensitivity of Sheslay and chose to ignore our numerous requests to cease activities over the summer. I hope other exploration companies take notice and are more respectful towards the Tahltan Nation in the future. We are not opposed to all exploration activities and developments, but we will make sure certain areas, such as Sheslay, remain protected for our future generations.
Together we danced, sang, and prayed at the drill site and at the camp; we also promised to continue to work together to keep Sheslay safe. Three of us stayed behind and we returned home today after the company made a commitment to cease their activities for the remainder of the summer. Meduh to our Ancestors, to our Elders and to everyone out there that supports the Tahltan Nation. Nedishcha xo
