The Dirty 30's...Imagine those who were fortune enough to have money on-hand when the markets sold off in the 1930's and were able to scoop shares up in companies they seen as having a good future. Years later those same shares likely made those families very wealthy. Those shares would have been bought from sellers taking steep losses... Key point being a Long Hold Time, not just a few weeks or months.
