Not really. There are plenty of startups that fall in the same category as VPT and much worse. I indulge myself in many of the same. My strategy is that if one out of 10 makes it to the finish line, I recoup all of my losses and more. If 2 out of the 10 make it, that is even a better payoff.  You should try it sometime. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
