RE:USDA Cash Grants for up to 90% of Sage Ranch, the balance atSo according to what you are presenting, there will be 995 homes times a household average of 2.41 persons  = 2,398 persons moving into Sage Ranch in Tehachapi and all the housing is for "Off-Farm Labour".
And yet Sage Ranch is a sustainable community in which people don't need cars, they can walk anywhere from their homes.
There is no transit system except for dial a ride.
Seems pretty contradictory that you are bulldozing under farm land that had water rights assosciated with the land to provide almost a 1000 homes for off-farm labour.

By all means it's not that farm labourers don't deserve far better pay and housing conditions because the people that hire these people definitely take advantage of their status.
Perhaps if organic farm owners, orchard farmers, sod farmers and others paid them a decent wage they could afford a decent lifestyle, an affordable home and not have to be reliant on loans and grants.

You own several organic farms Jeff. How much do you pay your field workers per hour?
Is it enough for living at Sage Ranch?
