What will the USA do if faced with energy security issues? On Dec 31, 2021, the American SPR stood at 634.9 million barrels which represented equivalent to approximately 1,069 days of supply of total U.S. petroleum net imports.
As of this week, the SPR inventory stands at 511.6 million barrels which by extension would mean 80.5% of the year end total or 861 days representing 2.35 years.
That sounds like a big buffer. Right?
Well, that depends upon American production continuing to hold up at current rates.
If American production declines and Canada (from which the US gets virtually all of its oil imports) continues to follow along Trudeau's insane ideology on oil, the safety net of the American SPR is much smaller than it appears.
Since the US puppet started calling the shots, the US O&G industry has voted with its cheque book. While the Russian O&G industry is being forced into reverse via sanctions, Biden et al are doing the same thing to America by choice.
Canadians should be thinking about the above. If the US gets in trouble vis a vis energy security, what do you think they will do?
