Diversified Battery-Focused Explorer Electric vehicles are, without a doubt leading the battery market as countries, people, and companies look to go green (and the sky-high gas prices). The exponential boom in EV demand has caused battery metals to become some of the most sought-after materials today. In addition to EV demand, renewable energy also requires a significant amount of batteries as things like solar energy needs to store the electricity collected during the day for the night. With all of these combined factors, prices of important battery metals like lithium have increased exponentially over the past couple of years.
With this projected growth, I’ve been looking at the mining sector. One company that stands out is $GEMS.C which holds a variety of properties not limited to lithium like many other exploration-stage companies. With their 5 existing properties (one more recently acquired), they're looking good to capitalize on the battery metal boom. I'll list some of the main things about each property below.
- Zen-Whoberi Project: This project focuses on copper, gold, and platinum. Past exploration has discovered grades above 1% Cu, 1 g/t Au, and up to 3.9 g/t Pt. Continued exploration is currently underway, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they're able to expand the project mineralization.
- Rockstone Graphite Project: The discovery hole found up to 25% graphite, and the graphite from this project has been refined to 96.1% with efforts to refine to 99.8% (battery grade).
- Their lithium-focused projects include the Bude Pegmatite Project, PAK South and PAK Southeast (Adjacent to $FL.V’s PAK/SPARK deposits), and the Camaro Project (adjacent to $PMET.C).
Now, adding the completed first tranche financing, recently acquired Galaxy Pegmatite Project, and exploration efforts on the various properties, things are getting interesting as we move into the summer season. Only a $12M marker cap, and considering the diversification and potential, this is definitely an interesting valuation here.
