Aimia Inc. is a diversified company. The Company operates through three segments: Bozzetto, Cortland International and Holdings. The Holdings segment includes investments in Clear Media Limited, Kognitiv, as well as minority investments in various public company securities and limited partnerships.

I cannot find the full slate of Mithaq's holdings but the four that I did find showed significant  investment declines over the last year.

In that perspective, both Mithaq and Mittkemen would benefit from a large cash dividend by Amia.

As for Mittkemen , most holdings companies do well coming out of a bear market.

However, management 's statement that they would invest some of the windfall cash to buy free cash generating companies whose earnings would be offset by Aimia's substantial forward tax loss pools.

Monetization of those tax loss pools immediately gives value to an asset class of Aimia that currently has no contribution  to the market cap.

As a general rule, Aimia would do quite well by unlocking the value of its investment assets either by sale a la PLM or spinning some of them out to shareholders
