Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

RE:RE:Interesting point of view...One would think that it might start to register in peoples minds by now but I think the anti fossil fuel narrative has done such an effective hatchet job that people and especially our politicians are convinced that oil is a terrible source of energy and therefore must be ditched much like coal and nuclear. Ditch oil and turn on the renewable switch and problem solved. The problem is there is no satisfactory replacement for oil no matter how hard gov'ts push for ESG's such as renewables. We simply can't run civilization on renewables and battery power. Maybe in the future but not anytime soon. The sooner people get this through their noggins and continue to improve the environmental aspect of the oil industry, the better off we will all be. Yes, keep up the research but in the meantime we need oil & gas to run things for some time yet. Just do it in an environmentally responsible way as possible.
