I think it's the opposite - there are no big buys or institutions buying or selling.  That means it's all retail doing the action.  Retail investors are all over the place and buy/sell on a whim. So you get investors existing their positions of 100K shares as an example and it just disrupts the whole market. 

I posted on this board before, but there was one seller from Stifel that was responsible for 50% of the sell side for the period of a month or so that dumped a few hundred thousand shares.  That drove the price down to $1.10 or so before the earnings results came out and it looks like while I thought the earnings for Q1 were good (not great, but not horrible), others disagreed and sold off.  

Funny enough, in the recent decline in the market, RET is actually holding the line compared to the market.  Looks like it found some support around $0.85
