No, millions believed his lies just as you did. They were misled, they were fooled, they had hated Hilary Clinton for years because she was married to Bill Clinton, who they had hated for years.

I wanted to believe some of Trump’s promises on immigration. He wasn't as firm and bold as he promised on the campaign trail. But, he at least made some effort.
I never hated Bill Clinton. I was happy when he defeated Bush. I saw Bill as an opportunist. I hoped he would work with the Republican house to pass common sense reforms on welfare and immigration.
He did that. If it hadn't been for one lunatic Republican Senator Spencer Abraham, legal immigration reform would have been signed into law, ending chain migration. But, at least a modest raise of the income required to sponsor relatives was passed, and a modest tightening of eligibility for SSI was passed. Also, modest Welfare reform passed(over Hillary's objections). I hate that Bill repealed the Glass-Steagall Act.
I dislike Hillary because she is a warmonger. She argued for bombing Libya and killing Gaddafi. I could go on.
