RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:They hated Trump from the first "I dislike Hillary because she is a warmonger. She argued for bombing Libya and killing Gaddafi. I could go on."
Oh, please do! But try to argue one issue at a time. Your desire to pretend that the American President can easily and quickly solve the global migration problem is pure folly and the result of self - dealing politicians misleading the public - a freakin' wall for God's sake! I think someone compared that to medieval thinking.
Here’s a bitter slice of reality my friend, migration or the evacuation of weather decimated lands will only become worse. Hungry people will move if at all possible. That’s a consistent fact of homo sapiens’ record on this earth. They will come and in greater numbers, but instead of Americans working together to developed a logical, reasonable response to this threat to human existence, we once more get self-serving politicians using it as a wedge issue to create resentment and bitterness toward the “other party”, or the most despicable villainous creature possible in Joe Manchin. Make no mistake, climate mitigation is going to be VERY expensive, but when the choice is collapse of our civilization, we have no choice.
Your references to immigration reveal your own confusion on the issue. No wall was going to solve the problem even if it reduced the inflow for a temporary period. Far better to have spent those tax dollars on immigration courthouses, processing centers, educational facilities, and constructive programs to put these people to work addressing climate change mitigation. How about training facilities, but in Mexico?
You say that Trump tried. Okay, but what was accomplished? Failure to address the seriousness of Covid when we could have limited it’s spread and saved 100,000 American lives. The disgraceful debacle in Afghanistan? An armed insurrection in an attempt to over throw our government. How in the world could anyone believe that Trump did anything for our people other than the 2017 huge tax give-away to-national corporations and billionaires that we are now paying for with higher prices.
I learned long ago that we only suspect others of doing that we would do ourselves. And as long as we are being honest with ourselves, we must admit that underlying our strenuous objection to immigration is a racial basis – “them” taking a larger piece of “our” pie.
