Natural Gas

Natural GasNot to mention Europe. Raging wildfires in Spain, Portugal, and France while England (where I lived for 6 years) may set an all time heat record today. GLTA

09:32 AM EDT, 07/18/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Benchmark natural gas traded higher early on Monday as hot weather settles over much of the United States, with most central states under heat warnings and forecasts seeing high temperatures continuing for most of the country.

Gas for August delivery was last seen up US$0.30 to US$7.32 per million British thermal units, following on a US$0.42 rise on Friday.

The rise comes as record heat settles over Texas and the central plains, boosting cooling demand.

"Nearly 35 million people remain under excessive heat warnings or heat advisories," the National Weather Service said. "These areas include large portions of the Great Plains and adjacent parts of the lower Mississippi Valley and Upper Midwest. Well above-normal to record-breaking heat is expected throughout much of the central U.S., as well as parts of the southwestern

U.S., with daytime temperatures climbing above 100 degrees in many locations."

Long-term forecasts from the agency expect hotter than usual temperatures for all of the country for the next two weeks.
