It was initially a medicine to lower Blood pressure but had the side effect that caused erections.
Now, I would have thought the opposite is true
And now that I think about it, some of the erections we have during sleep must have the body in an extremely relaxed state.
And when I think about it even more, I must ask myself, well, if there is an issue of high pressure how does one relieve it?
By having a release valve?

Having an erection lowers blood pressure.
That's not to say that I'm recommending a constant erection.
