Brokers Commission

OK I have a question for all you seasoned investors!
I gather that once the sale goes through, I have no option but to sell my shares; no problem there, but do I still have to pay a commission to my broker for the sale?
Since it is not my instruction to sell, in my mind i should not have to pay the commission, unless I instruct my broker to sell.
