Greenlane Renewables Inc T.GRN

Alternate Symbol(s):  GRNWF

Greenlane Renewables Inc. is a Canada-based company, which provides biogas upgrading systems. Its systems produce clean, renewable natural gas from organic-waste sources including landfills, wastewater treatment plants, dairy farms, and food waste, suitable for either injection into the natural gas grid or for direct use as commercial vehicle fuel. The biogas upgrading systems, marketed and sold by the Company under the Greenlane Renewables brand, remove impurities and separate carbon dioxide from bio methane in the raw biogas created from the anaerobic decomposition of organic waste at landfills, wastewater treatment plants, farms, food waste streams, and other feedstock sources. It is engaged in deploying the three main upgrading technologies: water wash, pressure swing adsorption, and membrane separation, plus proprietary biogas desulfurization technology. It has delivered over 145 biogas upgrading systems into 19 countries and over 160 biogas desulfurization units.

RNG Sector

RNG SectorThe basis for any success by GRN, XBC and others similar manufacturers in the RNG sector is based on a perceived need to urgently combat the climate crisis. But across the globe that need is clearly not considered urgent. The Canadian government has now allowed the oil industry an additional 2 years to plan construction of carbon capture technology that will cost tens of $ billions and be funded mostly by the Canadian taxpayer. (Refer to reports on CCS at Sask Power’s Boundary dam coal fired plant to see how absurdly expensive CCS is). In the US all efforts by the government to mitigate climate change have been stymied be their congress and supreme court. In Europe, thanks to their reliance on Russian energy, all efforts are now being focussed on securing energy security for the next winter. China and India continue to build coal fired power at an increased rate. It is not clear how or when things will turn in favor of XBC, GRN, and others in the RNG sector.
