Folks don't seem to be catching on that Biden is all about asking the rest of the world to produce, he just doesn't want it happening at home. NIMBY.
This way he can stand on the stage and claim the US is a whole bunch of things that it is not in terms of green, and the dirty secret is somewhere else in the world.

The botton line in all this is really quite simple.
This "proposal" would further politize the oil the market where you have beaurocrats affecting the oil price based on politics as opposed to market forces.
History has shown time and again if such things are left to political decisions, things get screwed up and I very much doubt that this time will be an exception. If anything, given the radical left views, it will get very screwed up and cost the taxpayers in the US dearly in terms of taxes and inflation.
