This observation is not new. I know people from Haiti, India, Somalia, Mexico, Pakistan, etc who are here in Canada working hard and regularly sending money to thier relatives in thier home country. It's many billions in total and it supports extended families in impoverished locations. And don't forget Cuba has 11.5 million people. These money transfers from relatives in the US, Canada etc are survival money at best and far from a solution to Cuba's predicament
