RE:RE:RE:wondering why it starts licenses with Middle East?I've been doing M&A Arbitrage almost as long as Mario Gabelli. I have had a very few deals not close and if I held on the stock traded up over the offer in a year or two anyway and I still got a small profit.
However, Petrotew looks like a TSX-V special situation, a busted penny stock with neither current assets, working capital, or any real value, and a cabal or "group" making a concerted effort to pump it up. This is going all the way back to the offer in April 2021 by some german entity making the offer on the german exchange for shares. That offer made absolutely no sense, and had no chance of success, and in fact did not succeed, and the tender eventulally died.
This current offer from Viston is not a repeat, but looks like it rhymes with the old one. I have a healthy scepticism that this offer will eventually be widthdrawn.
I own twitter. I think I have a better chance with Twitter that Musk will be forced by the courts in DE to honor his offer, or at least they negotiate a small disclount and they close. Activision is a real anti-trust issue with Mr. Softie, and is beyond my pay grade.
Normally, you make a tender, subject to CFIUS, you but in the CFIUS appliaction right away, like HSR and any other regulatory requirements.........these buyers and the seller both took months and months before they even disclosed that they did the filing...........to me that is BS on a $400M EURO deal.
