The weather is cooperating today with the forest fires as we get some much needed rain with cooler temps and winds that should help with the fires. Worst fires since 1961 here in NL. We are getting a lot of smoke in the Appleton and Gander region at times. The fires shouldn't impact New Found Gold's operation at Queensway North because they are still a long ways off however air quality due to smoke some days could be an issue. Queensway South operation could be impacted if the fires move in that direction but as of now I think they are safe. I would think Sokoman's operation could be impacted as they are much closer to the fires.
With regards to the Antimony mine I've always been interested in the gold potential in that mine as well as nearly. Previous operators of the mine have mostly ignored the gold. A geologist that worked there back in the mid 90's said he was impressed with the gold values they were seeing. That is basically all I know about it.
If I remember right Tim Fraude lives in Bishop Falls so he probably is getting a smokey drive
to Moose if he is working on his Epizonal Orogenic project. His drive is 20 min if I also remember.
Yep that antimony mine has also intrigued me as well as per previous discussions.
We have had the smell of smoke the last 2 weeks in Penticton from the Kermeis fire here in BC.
In that time my wife has been evacuating animals and homing pets.
Evacuation center in Bishop Falls has probably never been so busy? IKE
