Constellation got a mention todaybut I didn't notice anybody talking about Acreage Holdings who are going to be Canopy Growth USA division, one way or the other. Maybe they will come up with a whole new name or maybe it will stay as Acreage Holdings or just Acreage.
They might possibly go straight to Constellation Brands as a major shareholder responsible for the investment community standing up and taking notice that marijuana and hemp are in their future and a real thing that isn't going away.
Lots to look forward to for good marijuana company investors and I believe that Canopy is still a world leader and positioned for success.
It has been a tough row to hoe for marijuana companies, especially the ones that rushed in to be a part of the crazyness that drove shareprices to unbelievable levels with very little consideration to basic accounting fundamentals.
Constellation putting up $5 billion C for a good percentage of Canopy, helped to legitimize the whole marijuana and hemp potential as a real thing in the investment world.
Canopy ran as high as $78 C on future potential and came down hard as expected legislation to decriminalize or legalize the mariuana companies think that some form of legislation that will be considered a triggering event is on the horizon in the near future and I have voiced my opinions that it is going to happen, either by a miracle bill that will deal with most of the wishes of the pot investment community, or one State at a time.
I'm betting that Constellation have proactively made this decision based on expected marketshare loss on their light alchohol beverages to cannabinoid infused options. This option brings all kinds of healthfull benefits, mostly, I think, less calories and sugar.
When I talk about a miracle bill, I want to see one that incorporates the best of all of the bills that have been tabled, like SAFE, MORE, ACOA and the others, all of which will give fairness to a whole newly legitimized vice. Mostly, I am of the same opinion as Constellation that cannabinoid beverages are the future and they do seem to be increasing at the expense of combustible marijuana and hemp.
Right now I believe hemp offerings offer the most potential upside for investors because they are more readily accepted legally and by consumers who want to do something better for themselves than beverage alcohol.
For cannabinoid beverages to reach their full potential, marijuana hopefuls need to lobby to get the issue of alcohol and thc being served in the same venues solved in favour of bar and lounge patrons being able to consume these together or as an alternative to soft drink choices or light alcohol.
What better reason to go out to be part of the social scene and treat your ailments with a cbd beverage or a thc beverage as a healthier alternative. The close to 50% of diabetics and borderline diabetics is a huge market to be capitalized on and Constellation being beverage professionals and hardcore businesspeople with an eye to the bottom line know this, which is why they are continueing to provide financial backing for several US MSOs or outright buy ins of shares that they think will complement their ambitions of maintaining a world leadership position.
Constellation has put a lot of money where their intuition and business sense is leading them and they are a multi unicorn because they speculate what the future will bring and make it happen.
It is the will of US voters that decriminalization or legalization will happen, in one momentous bill or one State at a time.
If they get the momentous bill passed, we will see the biggest greenrush that will exceed what happened in Canada. If it happens one State at a time, not so much!
I missed the lows of WEED as I want to pick up several thousand more shares and I am already well positioned with Acreage shares that are going to be Canopy shares with a triggering event and if you think Canopy is cheap, check out the Acreage deal that is inked and a huge amount of cash has already changed hands to make the deal happen.
We need a greenlight for a green future in the US!
