Excerpt from Stockwatch Gold-Today Jean-Marc Lacoste's Monarch Mining Corp. (GBAR) lost one-half cent to 42.5 cents on 169,000 shares. This follows Wednesday's six-cent drop and Tuesday's three-cent decline. Monarch, 54 cents at one point Monday, has struggled since revealing its resource update for Croinor, east of Val d'Or in Quebec. The company has 904,000 tonnes measured and indicated at 6.47 grams of gold per tonne and 200,000 tonnes inferred at 6.19 grams per tonne, a total of 227,700 ounces of gold.
Investors had been expecting more. The previous, historical estimate listed Croinor with 805,000 tonnes measured and indicated at 9.12 grams of gold per tonne and 161,000 tonnes inferred at 7.42 grams per tonne -- a total of just under 275,000 ounces of gold.
