No question that many are grumpy on this BB because of the poor performance of XBC.  But what is this, pick on Peter Hodson week?

You must have been working in the basement at RBC Tamarack because I spent nearly 40 years in the military yet have known and followed Hodson since the late 90s. Have also met him a few times.

As for the second comment, pick any analyst in the world (start with Warren Buffet) and you can always find a clunker or two that they have recommended over the years. It comes with the territory.

When you work for an investment firm, there is always a vested interest in them supporting certain companies because they are courting them or participating in financings or whatever. The good thing about Hodson is that unlike when he was with Sprott, he can focus on just the fundamentals and remain impartial when it comes to recommending a stock. 5i employees are also prohibited from owning Canadian stocks.  GLTA

I totally agree. Peter Hodson is the one analyst who I subscribe to because as you said he does not have a vested interest in the stocks that he talks about. Even when he was with Sprott, I thought he gave honest opinions and when he left them he cited the fact that they had wanted him to push their holdings whether he believed in them or not. He calls them as he sees them.
