Im sorry to hear your son is battling depression. If you TRULY care about your sons mental health you will keep him far far far away from doctors. The only thing a doctor will do is prescribe a pharmaceutical chemical drug.
Then three things will happen.
1. Your doctors will get a larger bonus from the drug company.
2. Your son will become dependent on the antidepressants for the rest of his life.
3. And three, the day that your son forgets to take, or decides he doesn't need the antidepressant will be the WORST DAY OF HIS LIFE, and on that day you and your doctor will have pushed him closer to suicide then ever before.
I don't know how old your son is but if he is a teenager and you truly want to permanently pull him out of a depressed state without being dependent on a pharmaceutical drugs then research psilocybin. A small campfire in the backyard under the stars and 2grams of psilocybin mushrooms....healed...period.
