RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Relaxation Time - Favorite Business MoviesI'm going to have to find this movie now LOL
Speaking of books, anyone ever read Eying The Flash?
It does relate as I would include Glengarry Glen Ross as a great movie and the book is about the life of a carnival huckster touring the midwest in the early mid sixties. All about the patter in both book and movie and Pacino escorting and pattering the mark out of the office when he came in to cancel a deal is classic among so many great scenes.
Book is lots of fun as it describes how they'd fleece the crowd out of as much as they could before moving on, and coming back next year to do it again.
The flash is the term for what people win which was always worth far less than what they'd pay for it. The big animals won is awesome incentive for everyone to keep trying for the prize.
Individual play is not a lot of money but adds up with the volume generated by a successful travelling carnival and with the margin on the flash, profits are already high before you add what comes in on games with hard to win odds and rigged means like arrows, balls, cups, pins etc.
Scads of fun read with a conclusion that is inevitable once you get into the dynamics of the carnival venture as a family business.
