Personal Story - Please don't read if you don't careWas watching the evening news at dinner with my wife and there was a story about a kid who had a lemonade stand to raise money to buy an xBox. Somebody, on video, drove up in a car and stole his stand!!
The story reminded me of the older of my two sons. In our neighbouhood we have an annual street garage sale. My son who was 3 going on four at the time decided that he wanted to set up a lemonade stand and also sell Kellogs Crispy squares. My wife and made a deal with him that our labour would be free to make them but he would have to pay us back the cost of materials and he would also have to donate 10% of the profits to a charity. We thought that this would be a great life lesson for him.
Soooo....this guy stops by the lemonade stand and asks my son - remember he is 3-4 years old -"Why should I buy your lemonade for 25 cents when the girls across the street are selling theirs for 10 cents?" My son without hesitation in his best NY Jewish accent askes the man "Have you tasted their lemonade?" The man laughed and said "I will buy two."
Where is that son today?
He is the CFO of a company...
