some may have. I know someone really close to me that is actually up at Diavik today, planning out the shut down of it. Rio is starting the process of shutting down portions of its mine asap. Now, I do know for a fact they are not shutting down the processing facility as diavik still is an active mine. But I wonder if Arctic was to sell the sequoa pipe to Rio Tinto, would Rio need anything else operational other then the process faculty?
there are a number of Rio Tinto folks, de beers as well for some reason and a few other experts from around the world overseeing these meetings regarding shut down and the process.
just want to see if anyone else would have some inside ??
No inside info, I'm too far off.
But to answer your question, the processing facility would be a given for everyone if Seqouia or another pipe is found to be economical. Some neccessary adjustments because it's other ore I suppose but that would mean nothing comparing with the build of a unit from scratch.
Also it would be very good news for all the people of the region working in the mine now.
