Actually Golden ... if you look at the top of this Stockhouse siite - to the right of the GUD share price, you will see the bid/ask identified.  If one of those is replaced by a red circle with a number 2 in it (don't quote me on the actual way it looks) ... you will see if there is a hold on the company.

Actually - if you go to C.BEAN you can see a company that is halted.  A red "02" is right beside the stock price and that indicates a halt.  If you float your cursor over the "02" the words "Trading Halt" will appear.
