RE:RE:SNC to build new spy plane for US Army

RE:RE:SNC to build new spy plane for US ArmySpecifically to SNC, they have built prototypes to then market to the military, essentially showing them what is possible with the newest and most advanced technology, then leading to orders.  It's an interesting approach, and SNC is clearly successful with the approach.  You don't plunk down $200 Million on a "maybe".

The company is privately held corporation, and the owners are now multi-billionaires.  They bought the company and started with 20 Employees.  They now have over 4000 employees and are contractors for both Military and more recently,  Nasa.  The company is headquartered in Nevada, but has 33 locations in 19 States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Turkey.  So this company has the size, clout, and presense to have truly global reach.

I think the key consideration here (as per my last post too) is how widely adopted Bombardier is as the airframe of choice. From each of these three, Saab, the U.S. Military, and now SNC, there will be a strong order flow.  I wouldn't imagine Bombardier will ever rest here, but the biggest wins are ALREADY in hand.  Again, Bombardier was chosen.  And if there are other contractors out there looking at different airframe choices, this presence Bombardier now has is going to carry a LOT of weight.

Additionally, while we all want a safer and calmer world, the present realities are showing a significant ramp-up in military spending.  In fact, we ware now witnessing an all-time record on spending.  Here's a decent article on this.  CLICK HERE to read.

Given the current state of the world, and Bombardier's already strong presence, I would go as far as to say that while Martel's comments may have at first sounded almost ballsy, I actually think he may be understating both the potential and the coming reality for strong sales in this Military segment.
