RE:RE:RE:Up coming events That is what got me too. The Giant mine could still be mined but today it would be done using an autoclave . That eliminates that nasty clean up.I beleive Newmont did not want to upgrade the Con mine to their standards to end up being held responsible for having to clean up the whole City. They just did not want to fight the regulators having plenty of other options to put their money to work. I know giant was not their mine but it was too close for comfort. Few miles apart but the same deposit. The powers to be have a way to lump it all togerther if you play devil's advocate.
Walking away for them made sence. Now a few decades later they still have a right to come back in having no liabilty concerns. Just smart business on their part. Ofcourse they know there is gold left on site and next door too.
The million dollar question is: How Much is left on the Con claim? That is why Newmont did not do a deal untill the right guy came along and it took two deals and two years to get it done. Add it all up and we have a great opportunity here. Our biggest problem as shareholders is where the next money is coming from and at what cost to us. We already have a viable project north of town but GP has to get the Newmont deal finished first.
