We've held FTS in our RRSPs for 12+ years. During that time the value of the shares has more than doubled and the dividend will have doubled with this year's expected increase payable Dec 1.
Our 'reserve' is in laddered GICs and the rising rates are great. And with the pending conversion to a RRIF realized dividends (we still DRIP some shares) are now being "saved" instead of being reinvested in equities - this being a function of our age and the increased volatility of equity markets. I have no intention however of selling are shares in FTS.
