last I heardWe had 1.2 billion in the coffers. The question is whether it is enough to take us to the promised land aka USA.
The shakeout is building steam and good management backed by lots of dollars is a formidable force. Small players better be unique with award winning products and good business sense or they will just be wheel grease for LPS and MSOs who will swallow them up if they have anything that they might want.
US MSOs are having better success navigating their playing field and some are even able to show a profit.
Canadian LPs have been strangled by their own government with assinine rules and regulations that keep profits out of range at this time.
Serious LPs and other non US based potpreneurs are positioning themselves by angling in to creative deals to happen to be a part of the US marketplace when the legislation lines up and eliminates the risk from the Fed's and their heavy hand.
Part of the reason Canadians aren't barging straight in is because they are in fear of protectionism such that the US doesn't want the competition that we represent. Canada had a headstart and have recipes tweaked and ready to go for future sales of LP skus on American shelves, where and how legal.
Most US voters are in favour of some blanket legislation to remove the Feds heavy laws from the books which will be called legalization but repeated attempts to move this forward seems to stall out despite the voter's wishes.
The big players have calculated this in and guesstimated the time frame for this to happen in.
If we have to wait out all of the marijuana hopefuls to succumb to failure, it will take some time as there are still new players piling in amongst all the failures, mergers, acquisitions and such.
I am still sitting on a bid, serious amount of shares for a small player and tens of thousands of dollars because I believe that Canopy is still world leadership material and will be standing at the finish line if not leading it.
