my personal account is at 81 cents or something. and that is mostly due to averaging down many years ago when MOZ really got hit (as you allude to) as my MOA shares were well above that.

Now talking to myself. I can now see how you might keep that 44 cent cost base since it's in a tax free account. You can rationalize the (say) 10K you bought at 1.67 and sold at 2.58 as being the same shares. Certainly does not work that way for a taxable account but i can see your rationale for a TFSA.
