Does the market actually look forward?
Does the market actually look forward?
I am trying to understand why the market reacts with wild swings at every interest rate hike when they already knew these were coming months ago? Seems to me the market just prices for the present because if it really looked forward than it would acknowledge that the rate hikes will not continue forever and they are coming to a point they will have to slow the hikes or risk other unintended consequences. If the market knows today that more hikes are coming which they will then why does it act completely shocked the day it happens. Or does the market only look forward in a bull market.
