President Biden and the Democrats have no interest in rocking the energy boat at this time. They would love to have the price of oil and gas drift downward until the election, even helping the trend by releasing from the SPR. Keeping all the NATO members in line is difficult enough without pulling a senseless stunt like blowing a few holes in pipelines that weren't even moving any gas.
Over the years, I have spent considerable time in the US especially in the years since I retired. From this experience, I have learned a lot about US election mentality from the close friendships I have developed.
1….…. a large number of people will vote Republican or Democratic no matter what
2.....even more importantly....about 45% of the people in the US don't pay income tax and will vote for anyone who will give them free stuff and others have to pay for it. So politically Biden is very smart with his spending plans and says the rich will pay for it. With 45% of the people voting for Biden's free handouts it makes it difficult for the Republicans to win. The recent polls confirm this.
