Not In My Backyard

Not In My Backyard  "To little to late"  to renew interest in the Envirometal clean alternative. Or is it? The ground may be shifting as public perception and the rising cost of compliance puts the squeeze on North American smelters . Domestic E-recyclers will face a real dilemma as offshore restrictions limit their options on where to process their material. (not to mention the increased costs)

Perhaps Glencore's Horne shuttering would force companies to rethink the "Business as Usual" approach and provide incentive to think outside the box. Losing the largest processor in the Western Hemisphere would create a vacuum not easily filled.

It may be a case of "too big to fail" and the Province is "sabre rattling". Not to mention half the residents of Rouyn-Noranda work there.  We'll see as the deadline approaches   Interesting read.
