RE:readthe company is ramping up production of switchblade 600. tripling capacity from 2000 to 6000 per year.
The existing tank-busting munitions are:
1) the excalibur 155m artillary shell, which is a GPS guided gliding missile. It has great range but needs a howitzer and crew. Cost: about $200,000 per round not counting cost of howitzer and training the crew
2) javlin missile which has little associated equipment or crew, but much shorter range (few km), so more dangerous to use. Cost $150,000.
600 has same warhead as Javlin and minimal personel, but range like the howitzer.
So, any military that is thinking about avoiding getting attacked like Ukraine has been attacked, must be thinking about investing in the best loitering munitions for future deterence. With the smaller S300, only UK was authorized to purchase the item- US gov has some control on these sorts of transactions.
UA will be trying out the first ten SB 600 in the next few weeks in Ukraine. I'll post a link to the videos.
