RE:Datametrex is not alone in EV charging quest! What's important to understand is that DM EVS does NOT/NOT aim to put in place an EV charger network. It aims to address range anxiety through a much broader holistic approach - app providing timely information on (all) EV stations, charging recovery (truck moving to location to provide charging) system, commercial charging solutions (i.e. mobile chargers/robots), charging for other vehicles (i.e. drones, boats, vehicle fleets etc).
Hence, DM, as an AI company, does not aim to limit itself to a limited physically-spaced network but, rather, offer up an AI-driven optimized charging backbone service - something MUCH broader than an EV network - that can, seamlessly, set up beyond a physically constrained network as well as beyond borders. Who knows, perhaps DM EVS will, eventually, change its name to DM EVS Without Borders :-)
Lastly, as Electrek highlights in its article: "
We’ve asked Tritium what the rollout plan and timescale are – because, let’s be honest, EV drivers, that’s the information we really want – and will update this story when we hear back." It looks like the "plan and timescale" are skim on detail, reason why range anxiety will remain and why DM EVS' approach is the way to go, at this time.
