Actually I don't disagree with anything you state above. My point, however, is that scientists need to report data that is then peer reviewed in order for them to actually become facts. That's my domain. How the politicians decide to use this info AND what they choose to present to the constituents has nothing to do with the science. It has more to do with how our elected officials feel the general population will react. They want to be reelected.
