Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. is a Canada-based mid-stage junior exploration and development company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of Canadian gold and base metal mineral resource properties. It has a 100% interest in the Jubilee-Elmhirst, Beaurox and Twin Falls property. The Company also owns a 30% joint venture interest and Canadian Gold Miner Corp.

I also agree @goldenl, what i was infering is that since no major has been "legging in" that this will likely be a private equity buyout like you suggest. That said, to clarify, when I mean legging in, that is rarely done on the open market. A major would go to the board and say "we want to invest $x.xx into your company for 10% of your "unissued" shares". Then when more drilling is done come back and ask for nother 20% of unissued stock. Until they choose to buy it out completely. The problem with buying on the open market is 1. It would take too long given the volume that is traded. 2. Equity firms have their own disclosure rules and investment rules that would preclude them from doing so anonymously. And 3. To many observers would see the accumulation and red flags would go up at IROC not to mention the market would jump on the stock to drive it up. Iam sure there are other reasons these deals are done in the back room.
