Putin's Health
Some people need a reason for everything, especially those things with dire consequences. For them, "Putin has cancer" satisfies their need for why did Russia invade Ukraine & why now. He might have a host of terminal health conditions, he is at that age. He invaded because he did the calculus that no one would stop him. The only cost is his own casualties. It is clear from his & China's words, they were hoping this would provoke all out war with NATO. With NATO fully engaged in Europe & all surplus forces committed to Europe, no one could oppose an amphibious invasion of Taiwan. But it did not turn out that way. Nothing lost for China or Russia, their long game does not have to include economic prosperity, they are totalitarian. So maybe Putin has suddenly realized his impending demise & needs to go out expanding territory. But just as likely not. The West did not bite at his trap. By the time a man reaches his age, he has had enough health problems to accept that death is coming anytime. But for those who cannot accept that Putin is a monger without care for his eternal consequences for spreading war wherever possible, cancer is as good as any other why he would cause the deaths of so many.
