I always knew someone smart could come up with a good explanation. That said and with myself having experience with NDAs and contracts, it feels a bit like the kiss of death. Once you see the data, you are blocked from buying surrounding companies. I'm sure there's some kind of language allowing it with reasonable terms otherwise it's too much restrictive. Seeing and using are 2 different things.
