That said I think most would prefer to the monthly, but there is likely a rational reason behind abandoning it, maybe administrative costs to payout 3 times more often.
I would have liked a different schedule as very few companies pay Nov, Feb, May, August... I finally found and jumped in one I feel good about... you can create your own steady payouts if you pay attention to these schedules.
