The Globe and Mail reported an hour or so ago a quote from Ed Waitzer that he believes the deal is offside and will be halted by the regulators.

Why does his opinion matter?  Former OSC Chair, former Managing Partner at Stikeman Elliott LLP, as held various professor emeritus positions at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business.  Heavy hitter in securities law circles.

50/50 at best my guess and you have to wonder how many proxies have been revoked as well.

A lot of little shareholders put to a lot of trouble.
