RE:Why the poor reaction to oil and gas?
rico91 asked "Was it because it was Friday?"

Of course not.

One needs to look at the slightly bigger picture, not confine results to a few hours framework.

Look at Thursday - WTI was down while Canadian oil producer stock prices were up.  On Friday oil was up strongly but the Canadian dollar was up almost 2% negatively affecting Canadian oil producers.

If one combines Thursday and Friday the picture is clearer: Canadian oil producer stocks are up because WTI was up while absorbing the negarive effects of a lower US dollar.

If one looks at the entire week, all is good. WCP is up 6% from $10.32 to $10.94

If one looks at the year to-date, all is good.  WCP is up 46% from $7.49 to $10.94

Still some will complain that XXX stock did better than WCP.  That is true.  However WCP 46% performance beats 99% of all stock listed on the TSX.

In addition to the capital appreciation, do not forget the monthly dividend!

That is good enough for me.
