wound dressings - next stage?

wound dressings - next stage?This article provides an overview of current offerings of wound dressings with bioactives;

https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/11/9/4114/htm

Alginate as a substrate appears to have some advantages for treating exuding wounds and curcumin which is an anti-inflammatory is commonly noted in dressings.  Ceapro has demonstarted improved healing in animal models on burn wounds when controls are compared to PGX-alginate/calcium and further improvement when ibuprofen is added (ref. HCW webcast in May, 2022).

The study itself was mentioned in a 2020 published paper (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1742706120303275)/

"The impregnated scaffolds significantly accelerated burn wound healing while also promoting regeneration of the native skin morphology. We anticipate this approach can be leveraged to load clinically-relevant and highly bioavailable dosages of hydrophobic drugs in hydrogels for a broad range of potential applications."

It would be interesting to know how much more work has been done since and what the next steps are; is it ready for licensing?
