RE:Gold Fields will not make a counter-bid for Yamana Gold I think this new offer has developed because of the 50/50 joint venture that AEM and YRI have with the big mine in Ontario and its new mine expantion there.It's going to be huge ! . I don't think AEM wanted Goldfields as a 50/50 partner there.
There is also another big joint venture of YRI and ( cant recall where, South America ) with partner that they can bring eveything to an existing mill, capital costs were minimal.
