New basin exploration

New basin explorationHey everyone, this is exactly what I expected.  Recon proved the presence of a sedimentary basin, they proved oil and gas shows, that's a big step forward in this long, long exploration process.  The next step will be to show free oil or gas, something recoverable on test.  This could take dozens of wells and years to accomplish.  After this the next step is showing commercial quantities of oil or gas, this could take dozens more wells and many more years.  How many wells were drilled in Alberta before Leduc was discovered?  How many wells were drilled in Alaska before Prudhoe Bay?

New basin exploration is a very, very long process.  Is Recon the right company to get to the finish line?  Are their management the right people?  Will they have enough funding to get to the finish line?  I don't know, but the Kavango Basin will only yield its secrets slowly...
