New dividend in $US

I assume the new % dividend coming from a US company will not get a dividend tax credit but will be reported as other income and you pay your full marginal tax rate. This happens in an ETF l own as well. It owns foreign companies and the income is treated that way. Any comments are welcome...GLTA
