STELLAR METAL POWDERS - Looks very promising for PYR@RustyNut Apparently Aubert & Duval is moving it's metal powder production unit in summer 2023 to enable a 50% increase and later add more atomization units. Maybe a possible place for PYRs European Plasma atomization? In the past I thought it would be at UKAD, but who knows, might be some efficiencies here.
https://www.aubertduval.com/news/2022/11/15/stellar-metal-powders-the-new-aubert-duval-brand-for-additive-manufacturing/ @googlesvancouver @rustyNut nice find. So we have Nexgen pretty much locked up, producing commercial powders, delivered twice over 100kg to Aubert, and now Aubert announcing new alloys and new atomization units and expansion plans next summer.
And pyrogenesis repurposing one plant for new specialty powders
And another plant being purposed for AlSi10mg alloy.
Sheer coincidence I tell ya
@RustyNut @googlesvancouver I hope so. I imagine there would be plenty of efficiencies going in with A&D on a new factory, and putting the plasma tower(s) there. Probably would help with shipping and packaging costs. The timing of aerospace certification and a European tower in 2023 would be pretty nice. It doesn't appear to me that A&D currently produces AlSi10mg so that would be interesting.

Development of European Manufacturing Facility
In anticipation of the expected growth of the European market, and the expected introduction – based on significant recent commercial inquiries – of new markets in nearby regions, the Company is pursuing a strategy to build and operate a metal powder manufacturing facility in Europe.
To that end, the Company is examining cost-positive geographies, fleshing out preliminary infrastructure development plans, and exploring various avenues and potential approaches. All efforts are being conducted with the full knowledge and participation of our current European commercial partner Aubert & Duval, whose reputation and experience in the region will afford the Company unique advantages during all phases of this process.

Looks like they've finally selected a region...... maybe more to come from pyrogenesis.
